Introducing Our 2024-2025 Mutsidzira Grant Recipients: Marshall & Dadiso and Takudzwa
As we step into the new year, Mutsidzira is thrilled to announce our 2024 grant recipients: Marshall and Takudzwa. These two visionary individuals embody the spirit of innovation, leadership, and community transformation that the Mutsidzira initiative strives to support. Through their respective projects, they aim to create meaningful impact and inspire change within their communities and beyond.
Marshall & Dadiso: Empowering Young Leaders
Inspiration and Vision The duo are passionate advocates for youth empowerment. Marshall and Dadiso’s motivation to apply for the Mutsidzira grant stemmed from their vision to bridge the gap between young leaders’ aspirations and the resources needed to achieve them. This initiative seeks to equip leaders of clubs and societies at the University of Zimbabwe with high-performance training, guidance, and mentorship.
About the Project by Marshall: Marshall & project focuses on delivering customised training programs to address the unique challenges faced by youth-led organisations. The initiative integrates personal development with team performance, offering workshops in marketing, R&D, finance, project management, HR, and executive leadership. It also provides practical experience through job placements and shadowing opportunities, preparing young leaders to excel in their roles.
Future Goals Looking ahead, the duo aspire to establish training centres across Zimbabwe, reaching 500 individuals by the end of 2025. By doing so, they aim to foster a generation of confident, resourceful, and high-performing young leaders who can drive meaningful change in their communities.
Takudzwa: Nurturing Artistic Talent
Inspiration and Vision For Takudzwa, creativity is both a passion and a mission. He spends his free time capturing the world through his camera lens, finding beauty and focus in everyday moments. His entrepreneurial journey has been shaped by a desire to solve market gaps and challenges, with funding being one of the major barriers he sought to overcome through the Mutsidzira grant.
Takudzwa’s project stems from his observation of untapped talent among Zimbabwe’s youth, particularly in the arts and crafts sector. Recognising the lack of exposure, marketing, and monetisation skills among many gifted individuals, he aims to provide a platform for them to thrive.
About the Project Kunesani Arts and Craft, Takudzwa’s brainchild, is a collective of young artists dedicated to identifying, grooming, mentoring, and monitoring talent. The project enhances their skills and creates opportunities for monetisation through the production and distribution of high-quality arts and crafts. By fostering entrepreneurship and providing structured support, Kunesani is set to empower marginalized individuals and turn idle talent into productive enterprise.
Future Goals Takudzwa envisions a vibrant arts and crafts community where young people can earn a living from their talents. His project aims to reduce youth idleness, improve livelihoods, and establish a sustainable market for arts and crafts in Zimbabwe. By cultivating entrepreneurial mindsets and offering structured opportunities, he hopes to create lasting change in his community.
Looking Ahead
Marshall Mupariwa and Takudzwa exemplify the values of resilience, creativity, and leadership that the Mutsidzira grant champions. Their projects are not just initiatives; they are movements poised to transform lives and inspire countless others.
