Tinashe M

Tinashe Marera is a young man; the last born in a family of six children. He lives in the township of Seke and has been raised by his siblings. His mother passed away and his father works in Mozambique. Despite living under very tough conditions, he still believes that he can use his academic excellence to achieve his goals. He has a great passion for community work and aspires to be a doctor. Tinashe obtained 9As for his ZIMSEC 2012 O-Level examinations. He attended Gateway High School.

Ntombizodwa M

Ntombizodwa is a young lady; the first born in a family of three children. She lives in the township of Highfield. Her family faces huge challenges as both parents are unemployed and daily life is a struggle. She has defied all the odds by excelling in her school work. Her dream is to be a doctor and serve her country and local community. She wants to fill the gap that has been created by many professionals leaving Zimbabwe in the health sector. She obtained 9As and 1B for her ZIMSEC 2012 O-Level examinations. Ntombizodwa attended Gateway High School.

Rufaro N

Rufaro is a young lady and is the oldest of 3 children. She lives with her mother in Chitungwiza. Rufaro’s mother is unemployed and faces many challenges trying to provide for her family. Rufaro has a compassionate heart and would like to become a doctor, specialising in gynaecology. She has a vision to see lives changed through medicine and would like to help family and friends who cannot access medical care. She obtained 9As for her ZIMSEC 2012 O-Level examinations. Rufaro attended Gateway High School.

Bright Z

Bright is the first born in a family of four children. He grew up in the rural areas but later on moved to Zengeza, where he did both his primary and secondary education. Both his parents are unemployed and survive on piece jobs. His dream is to be an aerospace engineer in Zimbabwe. He is a passionate, driven young man with natural leadership qualities. He believes he can work with other engineers to develop the air transport system in Zimbabwe. He obtained 8As and 1D for his ZIMSEC 2012 O-Level examinations. Bright attended St George’s College.

Clive M

Clive is a young man who has a twin brother and a young sister. Born and bred in Mbare, a township associated with all the wrong things, Clive wants to prove to the nation and the world that good can also come out of Mbare. He is passionate about helping out and giving back to his community. His dream is to become an aircraft engineer. Physics is his favourite subject, as it fully makes him understand his surrounding world and how it works. He is a hard worker, who believes competition helps one accomplish goals. He obtained 9As, 1C, 1D for his ZIMSEC 2012 O-Level examination. Clive attended St George’s College.

Joseph N

Joseph is a young man with ten siblings and currently lives in Zengeza. His father died when he was 13 and ever since then he has lived a turbulent life. His mother is unemployed and they survive on her doing odd jobs and receiving hand outs. Joseph has a dream to become a heart surgeon. He enjoys challenges, as it makes him stretch his mind. He is focused on success and does not take ‘NO’ for an answer. He obtained 9As and 1B for his ZIMSEC 2012 O-Level examinations. Joseph attended St George’s College.

Takudzwa C

Takudzwa is the only boy in a family of four children. He lives in Mufakose with his mother. She is a single parent, working tirelessly as a government teacher to provide for her family. He is a kind-hearted young man who excels in Chess and Athletics. He is also passionate about community service and is an excellent team player. His dream is to become an Electrical Engineer. He obtained 10As for his ZIMSEC 2012 O-Level examinations. Takudzwa attended Hellenic International Academy.

Ruvimbo D

Ruvimbo lives in Mabvuku and is the second born in a family of three children. She is business-minded and draws inspiration from the successful business women of Zimbabwe. She aspires to be an Accountant which she believes is her calling rather than a career. She shares the same vision with Makomborero Zimbabwe and wants to help children from her community achieve their goals and aspirations. She obtained 9As for his ZIMSEC 2012 O-Level examinations. Ruvimbo attended Hellenic International Academy.
