The search is over! We have found our new Mobile Lab Assistant for the Makomborero Mobile Science Lab.

Our Mobile Science Lab started operating in 2017 and the heart has always been to equip students with practical, hands-on experience in Physics and Biology. We currently have 15 students per term. These students are in Form 3 (aged 14-16) and they make use of the lab for 5-8 weeks each term. That means a maximum of 45 student get to have this wonderful opportunity! In 2025, we had the great privilege of adding a 3D printer to the lab. The few times we had a lab assistant as part of the team, we appreciated how it made the work lighter and loved the lower teacher to student ratio. We are pleased to make this a more permanent position and even more pleased that it has been filled by one of our alumni. Ladies and gentlemen, please put your hands together and welcome our new Mobile Lab Assistant, Abigail to the team! As is now tradition, we asked her a few questions:
Which high school did you attend?
I went to Warren Park High School for both O-Level and A-Level
What are you doing now?
I am currently studying Aeronautical Engineering
What made you apply for the Mobile Lab Assistant position?
My passion for education but mostly my passion to help other young students like me who are as curious about STEM subjects as much as I was when I was their age.
You are two weeks into your role at the lab. What have you enjoyed the most?
Helping during practical sessions has been my best experience so far. Also, the team is great fun and they’ve been very welcoming!
What’s your favourite food?
My favourite food is rice and sugar beans and anything meaty.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I love doing craft work like crocheting.

Hot drinks or cold drinks
Both (Errrm isn’t this cheating Abigail?)
Long walks or short runs?
Definitely long walks😁
Thank you Abigail! We love having you as part of the Mobile Lab Team and we are so excited for the many lives that will be changed with your input!
